Hearty Black Beans and Rice with Sausage – A Flavor-Packed Comfort Dish

  • 12 oz smoked sausage, sliced

  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed

  • 1 cup long-grain rice

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 1 bell pepper, chopped

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 cups chicken broth

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • Pinch cayenne pepper

  • 1 tbsp oil

  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  • Cook sausage in a skillet until browned. Remove and set aside.

  • Sauté onion, bell pepper, and garlic in oil.

  • Add spices and rice, stir to coat.

  • Pour in broth, cover, and simmer 15 minutes.

  • Stir in black beans and sausage, simmer 5–7 minutes more.

  • Fluff rice, garnish, and serve.
