2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs
1/2 cup milk
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 cups apples, peeled and diced
1/2 cup powdered sugar + 1 tbsp milk (for glaze)
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan.
Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Set aside.
Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and milk. Stir in flour and baking powder.
Layer half the batter, apples, and cinnamon sugar. Repeat. Swirl gently.
Bake 50–60 minutes until toothpick comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes.
Drizzle with glaze and serve.
Tart apples like Granny Smith work best. For a richer loaf, add nuts or a cream cheese glaze.
